En ze piste

We went skiing in Meribel last week. Stayed in a lovely chalet. There was a boy Bella's age in the chalet, Harry, and a couple of other kids, so they had lots of fun together, in the chalet and at creche. It snowed a lot which was good for the skiing, although it would've been nice to have seen the sun a little more frequently.

Here's Bella on the sledge

Going up the ski lift and having a hot chocolate on the slopes

Jo and Oscar's visit

Jo and Oscar came to visit this weekend, and it was great to see them. Last time we saw Oscar it was New Year's Eve and he had just got out of hospital having been 6 weeks premature. It was Oscar's first trip abroad. Didn't seem overly excited about it though, as he slept most of the time we were out and about. He did however get good use out of a few of Isabella's old toys and was quite lively at home.
We did a couple of the classic sights, and went to Isabella's favourite, Jardin d'Acclimatation, where our picnic was put to shame by the Frenchies. We did however see "pig pi pi" and "bear bed" amongst other exciting events.
On Monday Oscar (and Jo) left, and when we got back from work Isabella had already told her after school nanny (Genvieve) about the baby that had been staying.

Horsey horsey

Isabella finally plucks up the courage to take a ride in the horse (donkey?)carriage on the Champs de Mars. One of these days she'll actually ride on top of the horse.

Nick and Mel visit

My friend Mel and brother Nick came across from the UK for the weekend. Nick did lots of Uncle stuff with Isabella who is currently obsessed with drawing and reading. Mel bought Bella 3 lovely books which she carried around with her for a few days (Bella not Mel).

We did a long tour on the Saturday, taking in the wonderful Rodin Museum amongst other things. Nick is now the Rodin expert. The morning after a disappointing Rugby match and some very expensive beers, we did the Sunday walk down the Champs de Mars. Isabella did actually walk quite far, for once. When she got tired she went on Uncle Nick's shoulders. By the time we walked home she had fallen asleep on Nick's head. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere but I'm not sure what.

Carnaval

Every week they do a theme at the Creche. A couple of weeks ago it was Carnaval for Mardi Gras. Here she is still with her face paint on.
