Not the School Photos

Whilst we were over in the UK recently, Nanna and Granny took Bella and Sebastian off to their cousin Marisa's pre-school photo session, which was something of an open house. Here are some of the results. Love the photos, much better than the one Bella had taken at her own school. A bit sorry Malc and I didn't go ourselves as the only family portraits we ever have seem to be taken at Halloween...

Sebby tries to get closure

Sebby went on strike at pre-school after Jake left, refusing to take part in activities. Trying to get some closure Lynsey and Sebby decided together that Sebby could make a present for Jake, cos his dad, Tim, is back in the country this week and can take it to Singapore. So Sebby spent a whole morning sewing this teddy bear. I didn't know he could sew, but Lynsey promises me he sewed everything except the buttons (shame he can't do buttons...). He also dictated a letter for Lynsey to write, it says. "I miss you - I made you a teddy and I play by myself. Love Seb." Gosh, brings a tear to my eye.

Puglia in October

It was half term and we fancied a break, so we booked a flight to Brindisi, in the heel of Italy, and rented a two bed place in a charming Puglian Masseria, highly recommed it http://www.masseriaabaterisi.com/. It was out of season, and the weather varied between 22-15 degrees, so it wasn't a holiday for lazing in the sun. However lots to do with some quite amazing places in a small geographic area.

running through the streets of Ostuni, the White City.

A 3 km round walk through the Grotte di Castellana. Really amazing caves.
Probably the kids favourite day at the safari park and amusement park. It was so quiet we went round the park twice, and every ride we went on, we were the only people and got to go on twice. Good job really cos it was another of those amazingly old amusement parks with rides from the dark ages, not that the kids seem to notice.

inside the Masseria, Malcolm has to duck everywhere he goes.

Crazy kids in pool, you wouldn't catch me in there without a wet suit. Brrrr.

wandering around the olive trees in the garden

at Alberobello, a World Heritage place, full of tiny white domed houses.

Playing on one of the many beaches.
