BBQ

Some of the new toys, include a second hand (rather pink) bike for Bella, she never got to grips with the tricycle (that Sebby's on) but she's great on the bike. We also bought a trampoline, which is lots of fun (although just for the record, not made for grown men to bounce on).

And here we have some pictures of a BBQ we had.

After a pretty intensive 6 months for both of us at work, we're off on holidays now to Italy for a couple of weeks. Hurrah.

Another summer's weekend

Another summer's weekend came and went. Winter was all about snow, skiing and fondue. Summer is all about sun, splashing in the water, BBQs and ice cream. This weekend was a round the lake race, so we went to a local "beach" to watch it, however there was so little wind it didn't look much like a race and took forever to go past, so we had hot dogs whilst we waited. Then there was a music festival, which I went to one evening (and saw Travis and the Editors) and then we all went to the kids day on Sunday and saw the Swiss version of the Wiggles, actually they were nothing like the Wiggles. It was all a bit too hot and bothersome, so we retired to the park and had ice cream, again. The next day we hung out at the neighbours pool, such a tough life.

Granny and Grandad

came to stay, and lots of fun was had. Pimpa didn't have her car one day, so they became a taxi service for Bella taking her to school and back and a playdate and back. They helped pick what seemed like 10kg of cherries off the garden tree, took some French lessons from Bella, and also attended a 4th birthday party.

WineTasting

It's the season of Portes Ouvertes at the local wineries. Essentially they serve you their wines all day and night for free, and in exchange you may order some before you leave. Great stuff. So a whole bunch of us cycled down to the local village, kids in tow, and spent a fun afternoon. The kids got high on apple juice and cake being served by a friendly old lady, and we tasted the local wine, before placing our orders and cycling home.

Looking for a Handsome Knight

A few weekends ago there was a medieval thing going on in nearby France. It was a lovely day, and the place was chock full of maidens, knights, entertainers, paupers, princesses, a few Robin Hoods and I swear I saw Darth Vadar. Any excuse huh. There was jousting, hog roast, archery, musicians, too many things to mention actually. I have a feeling the people who do this sort of thing take it a little too seriously, but I have to say they put on a great show. Bella got in to the spirit with her Aurora (Sleeping Beauty to the uninitiated) outfit. Turns out pointed princess hats are more fairy tale than medieval, but otherwise she fitted in well. Sebby did well to sit through 90 minutes of parades and jousting. There was a red, a black, a blue and a white knight in the jousting competition all after the hand of the princess. Bella decided to support the black knight...not a popular choice with the crowd, I might add. Turns out he did rather well, until the King overruled him, killed him and gave his daughter's hand to another. Hmmm, so our lesson for today is that "life's not fair" ?
Knights of all shapes and sizes..

Chris's Birthday

Here we have Chris on a Cake. Scary.

Lots of catching up with folks in a fabulous house, and fun in the sunshine. Perfect.

Long Weekend in Brighton

Over the UK bank holiday weekend at the end of May we went over for Chris's 40th Birthday. It was a holiday here on the Thursday so we went over early and spent a couple of days in Brighton and caught up with Callum and Lucy who now live there. The weather was lovely, if a little fresher than Switzerland, but we got in to the spirit down at the beach.
