Bye Bye the Kneens

Good friends Jo, Tim, Maddy and Jakey are leaving to go and live in Singapore. Such is the life in an expat community unfortunately there is lots of turnover of people, but lots of possible holiday destinations to go to also...

The grown ups had a big night out on Saturday, but fortunately we have no photos of that. Sebby goes to pre-school with Jakey, and is very sad to lose his best playmate. They had a dress-up party to mark the occasion and Sebby bought Jakey a Swiss St Bernard to remember him by. Between them the two super-heroes worked out how to open the present.

the Winning Pumpkin

Bella's school had their Autumn Fair, with something of a Halloween feel to it. The kids went dressed up, although who would want to wear a black witches outfit when there is a princess dress to be worn. Sebby also eschewed his new Dracula oufit for Peter Pan (or Robin Hood?).

Bella entered the pumpkin decorating competition. True to form she decided she wanted to do a princess, so shortly after a took half my thumb off, (thanks mum for the new knife, turns out it is indeed very sharp), she decorated it suitably princess like, with one of the 12 black bob wigs I seem to have, and various accesories. Turns out the princess stood out amongst the many scary faces, and she won the prize for the best decorated pumpkin. Hurrah, the thumb was worth it.

Autumn's nearly here hike

Enjoying some late Summer sun before the cold settles in we went for a Sunday hike in the Jura.
