Roly Poly ...

Sebastian hasn't yet started crawling, could be something to do with the weight of his tummy, can't seem to get it off the ground. However instead he gets around by manoeuvering on the spot and then rolling to his target destination. Check out the following videos.

A visit from Chris & Alex

Chris & Alex came over from Basle this weekend. Una is away having a girly weekend in Majorca before number 2 arrives. Good idea. We had lots of fun in the garden in the paddling pools. Alex loved the water, as they have a swimming pool at home. I guess ours was a bit of a let down (although I know theirs doesn't have a built in water spraying palm tree...).

Today we went to our new favourite destination Signal de Bougy. This time we tried out the bumper boats and the motocross, as well as the usual spots. Everyone had lots of fun, in the sweltering heat.

The sun has got his hat on

Well finally the sun has come back and we've had lots of long and hot sunny days (32 degrees). We established a rather tasteful (?) fun area in the garden. Last weekend we went to the outdoor pools at Divonne in nearby France, which are lovely, with a padlding pool, a kiddie pool and an olympic size adult pool complete with slides etc. Plus lots of grass, plenty of shade and a restaurant. Perfect, almost like being on holiday... The BBQ is also getting lots of use.

As for Bella and Sebastian, it is becoming apparent that Sebastian has a skin that will tan, whereas Bella stays a nice (fashionable) white.

When Lions Roar...

This weekend we went to the summer fair at the international school (hopefully where Bella will go one day) which is just down the road. Bella had her face painted, went on the bouncy castle and had a poney ride. We also bought a huge bag full of children's books and some dodgy toys for not very much money. A monring well spent (oh and it was 29 degrees heat phew)

Jasper helps Bella and Sebby has a giggle

are you scared ?

Nanna & Pops Visit to The Yellow House

Nanna and Pops came for a long weekend, conveniently for me when Malc was away. Lots of different bike combinations were tested, and we also went to Signal de Bougy (our new favourite kids place) where we saw the animals and played in the park.

Bella demonstrates her (limited) skills on her bike without pedals...

I show my (limited) skills on a bike. Ddriving off down our lane, a bit rainy but OK.

Saying hello to the goats and the baby pigs, hoping Sebby doesn't have the same fear of animals his sister has. Playing in the park.

Meeting the neighbours - sort of

Chris and Una and Aled and Claire are friends who live in Basle, only 2.5hrs away. So we decided to go over for the weekend. They are both expecting number two at the end of the Summer, and both have a toddler already, so C&U played host to a rather demanding and messy groups (+ their kids). We managed to spend quite a bit of time outside with lots of time to try out Alex's (and Chris's) toys.
