Bella and Polly in action

The moonboots see some action

As it turns out you can have ski lessons with plastic skis, so Malc took Bella off to the bunny slopes, whilst I sat in the car as Sebby took a nap. Transpires the lesson goes something like this:
1. walk forwards on the flat
2. walk sideways on the flat
3. throw and catch a ball (if you happen to have one with you)

Well you have to start somewhere, it took 5 minutes, and it was free (I hope).

Afterwards we joined up with Oliver and Polly for some sledging. The moonboots experienced a bit of downhill sprint action as I chased a sledge, being driven by Bella (3) with Polly (2) on the back, as it careered towards a small group of unsuspecting adults on the sidelines (or so they thought...)

Guess who came to town..

Papa Noel and his donkey paid an early visit to Founex, and was welcomed by
all the local children. As you can see we live in a small village. Bella was a bit concerned as donkey's can't fly, but we reassured her when he needed to fly he would use his reindeer.

What no snow?

Mum popped over for a long weekend. Cold but crisp, and momentarily no snow on the ground, we went out to the local park and cafe for a hot chocolate.

Sebastian in action

All the gear...

Apologies to Nick and Jo, and everyone else who reads this blog, as it appears that for the next 4 months our pictures will mainly be snow and fondue's, there's not much else going on around here. So we went up to check on the half renovated mountain apartment, which is looking good by the way...

Whilst there, we equipped ourselves with the missing equipment for the season. Bella got a pair of plastic starter skis, a helmet and goggles. The latter unlikely to come under much stress but she looks the part, and some of the tobogan runs prefer it (those would be the one's Malc will be going down). I got myself a pair of moonboots. I am reliably informed that although Switzerland is stuck somewhere in the last century, the boots should under no circumstances leave the country. I was a bit disappointed actually, they're so cosy and warm. The ski lifts have now opened, so maybe next time we'll take the skis with us. Sebastian as ever gets dragged around on the sledge. Not so much fun yet.

Here's Bella out for the first time on her plastic fantastic skis. Malcolm provides some expert advice from the sidelines.
